Rebecca qualified in December 1986 and specialised in Criminal Defence work. Rebecca soon managed the Criminal Department in a well known firm in South East London, becoming a partner by 1990. At the same time, she started representing clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals.
When taking a short break from private practice, Rebecca became involved with local MIND groups providing legal advice. She specialised in Mental Health Law in 1996 and covers a full range of hearings, nearest relative applications, appeals and judicial reviews. Rebecca has managed the Mental Health Law Department for a South London practice and also as a supervisor at a Central London firm. Rebecca is still specialising in mental health law now as a part time consultant, with particular interest in advocacy.
