Zhina joined Edwards Duthie Shamash in September 2023 as Shaun Murphy’s Paralegal in the Criminal Department. In her role, she has contributed to a diverse range of high-profile cases, including those involving serious sexual offences, serious violence, terrorism, and other complex matters, demonstrating her strong legal acumen and dedication to client outcomes.
Zhina graduated with a 2:1 in Law LLB from the University of Surrey in 2022, where she was awarded a scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements. She subsequently completed her Master of Laws in Legal Practice (LLM) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law in 2023.
Zhina is currently attending Cardiff University for her Police Station Accreditation and looks forward to representing clients at Police Stations in the near future.
Fluent in both Persian and Kurdish, Zhina’s multilingual skills complement her diverse legal expertise, enabling her to effectively engage with a range of clients.
Experience & Areas of Expertise
Prior to working at Edwards Duthie Shamash, Zhina worked as a Criminal Paralegal at Bark & Co Solicitors. She gained valuable experience working on high profile criminal cases that gathered widespread media attention, many of which involved serious sex offences and white collar crimes. This exposure to complex, high-stakes matters honed her legal skills and provided a solid foundation for her current role.
While pursuing her LLB, Zhina secured an internship at Clifford Chance, where she gained extensive knowledge and experience on global laws in connection with Human Rights Law. She was faced with a range of complex legal challenges and scenarios, which significantly enhanced her problem-solving and analytical skills, which have since proven instrumental in her ongoing legal career.
