Edwards Duthie Shamash successfully represented a pharmacist in respect of serious criminal allegations at Truro Crown Court.

The pharmacist was charged with two allegations of sexual assault against a patient which was said to have occurred some 4 years ago. There were very sensitive issues that had to be dealt with, including issues relating to pharmaceutical practice, medical procedures and expert evidence.

The outcome was of enormous importance to the client, a man of good character with an excellent reputation in his community.

The Jury returned unanimous verdicts of not guilty.

This case was dealt with throughout by Shaun Murphy who was the solicitor who prepared the case and also attended Truro Crown Court to represent the pharmacist as his advocate.

Shaun Murphy also represented the pharmacist before the Interim Orders Committee of the General Pharmaceutical Council during the 4 year period leading up to the trial. In that jurisdiction he was successful in persuading the Committee that the pharmacist should be able to continue to practice pending the outcome of his trial.
