Yvonne graduated with a Law LLB from the University of Leicester in 2023. During her time at university, she chose to study the following optional modules: Criminology, Commercial law, Family law and Medical law. In her third year, Yvonne also took part in the SEND Project Pro Bono Group where she participated as a Legal Researcher. Following her graduation, Yvonne worked at events agencies and travelled to ten countries.
Prior to joining Edwards Duthie Shamash, she worked at a local immigration firm assisting a solicitor with his case load, liaising with clients and drafting applications. As a bi-lingual person who is also confident speaking Tamil, Yvonne was able to take instructions from clients who could not or were not comfortable speaking English.
Yvonne joined Edwards Duthie Shamash in January 2025 as Shabaz Ahmed’s paralegal. Whilst working with Shabaz, she has encountered a diverse range of offences and worked with vulnerable clients such as those who do not speak English, people with mental health issues or learning difficulties and juveniles. Yvonne assisted with the case of R -V- HW.
Yvonne completed her Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme with Cardiff University and is a fully accredited police station representative.
