Courtroom scene representing criminal defence in a complex conspiracy to kidnap case involving cryptocurrency evidence.

The client HW was accused of a string of sexual offences including rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of three young women in East London. HW denied the allegations he faced. HW was tried at Snaresbrook Crown Court  in October 2025 and was found Not Guilty of Attempted Rape and assault in respect of one of the women. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining counts.

HW was tried again in June 2026 in respect of the outstanding counts. He was found Not Guilty of the remaining sexual offence charges in respect of all three young women, effecting his release from custody.

Extensive work was completed on behalf of HW including a forensic examination of his mobile telephones. Ultimately the meticulous preparation of the case and the excellent advocacy at Court by Counsel Susan Meek, who led Shabaz Ahmed as trial counsel (Shabaz was both solicitor and junior advocate in case) secured the acquittal of a young man who had no previous convictions and always denied the sexual offences he was accused of at trial.
