Senior Employment Lawyer

Edwards Duthie Shamash have a vacancy for a Senior Employment Lawyer to work in our office in London, Waterloo, but also to be available to meet with our clients in our other offices within the London area based in Stratford, Wanstead and Ilford. 

We are an established firm with expertise in a number of areas of law for which we are recognised in Legal 500 and Chambers. We have provided specialist legal assistance for over 120 years to individuals, families and businesses. 

Our work extends throughout England and Wales, although we also have a tradition of community involvement. Many of our lawyers are on specialist Law Society panels and are members of other professional bodies. Such endorsements highlight our commitment to providing the best in client support.

Edwards Duthie Shamash Solicitors, a Legal 500 firm,  has an opportunity for a Family Solicitor with a minimum of 3 year’s post qualification experience to join our highly regarded Family Team, to be based at our Stratford, Wanstead or Waterloo office. 

Applicants must have experience of managing a private law caseload that includes divorce/civil partnership dissolution, finance and children matters.

Criminal Defence Solicitor

Edwards Duthie Shamash Solicitors, a legal 500 firm, has a vacancy for a solicitor in criminal litigation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to join our respected criminal department. Ideally, you will be qualified as a Duty Solicitor but, if not, we will provide training and support to the right candidate to achieve this qualification.

You will be an experienced advocate or someone with the enthusiasm to develop advocacy skills. This is an opportunity for a person with the right skills and aptitude to develop professionally. The successful candidate will have the experience of working in a challenging but stimulating environment and the opportunity to work alongside successful and experienced solicitor advocates.

Accredited Police Station Representative

Location: London

Edwards Duthie Shamash Solicitors, a legal 500 firm, has a vacancy for an Accredited Police Station Representative.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to join our respected criminal department. Based at our Ilford/ Stratford office you will work closely with members of our experienced criminal law team to manage a varied caseload.

Main duties & responsibilities

In addition to attending Police Stations, the role will also involve assisting fee earners within the department with all aspects of their work  including:  undertaking research, case administration and document management, analysis of information /evidence, attending meetings with clients and counsel, attending at court appearances and drafting witness statements.

Training and close supervision would be provided by senior fee earners within team.

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates will have: –

  • Police Station Accreditation
  • A good working knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to organise work and meet deadlines.

Mental Health Solicitor

Our Community Law Team has expertise in all areas of social welfare law, including housing & debt, community care and mental health law.

We now wish to recruit a mental health lawyer to join our Community Law Team at our office in Stratford, London E15.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ PQE and have attained their Law Society Mental Health Scheme accreditation.

They will also have advocacy experience, be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients while working in an organised and flexible manner.

Housing Caseworker/Solicitor

Our Community Law Team has expertise in all areas of social welfare law, including housing & debt, community care and mental health.  The team has a particularly strong reputation for housing law and has brought a number of significant cases over the last 10-15 years.  The team is proud to hold Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme contracts with the Legal Aid Agency in the County Courts at Edmonton and Romford and at the Stratford Housing Centre.

We now wish to recruit experienced housing caseworkers or solicitors to join our Community Law Team at our office in Stratford, London E15. Successful applicants will have a sound knowledge of housing law and litigation and ideally will have experience of acting as a duty advisor under a Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme. Experience of community care law is also desirable.

Salary according to experience.
