Edwards Duthie Shamash Solicitors is looking for a hands-on Facilities Coordinator to take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of our London offices.

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys solving problems, getting things done and being visible across the offices. We are looking for someone who is willing to deal directly with everyday facilities issues, carry out straightforward maintenance tasks where appropriate and arrange specialist contractors when required.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include managing planned and reactive maintenance, carrying out regular office checks, arranging and overseeing contractors, dealing with minor repairs and practical tasks, supporting office moves and furniture requirements, managing access and security arrangements, assisting with health and safety, managing storage and archiving arrangements and helping to ensure our offices remain safe, functional and well maintained.

You will work across our four London offices and will need to be organised, practical and comfortable working independently.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in facilities, maintenance, premises management, caretaking, property support or a similar hands-on role.

You do not need extensive formal facilities management qualifications. We are more interested in practical experience, reliability, common sense and someone who is willing to roll their sleeves up and deal with issues as they arise.

What are we looking for?

  • Practical facilities or maintenance experience.
  • Basic DIY and maintenance skills.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence dealing with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel between our London offices.
  • A reliable and responsive approach.

Previous experience in a professional services or legal environment would be helpful but is not essential.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of a busy facilities function and able to respond effectively to both planned and unexpected issues.

You will be:

  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Proactive, practical and solutions focused.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, contractors and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills.
  • Commercially aware and conscious of value for money.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to respond to out-of-hours callouts, including some evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive or confidential information.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a varied and important facilities function within a busy professional environment. You will work across the Firm and play a key role in ensuring our offices operate safely, efficiently and effectively.

If you are an organised, dependable and hands-on facilities professional who enjoys taking responsibility and making things run smoothly, we would be pleased to hear from you.
