Litigation Paralegal
Location: Office Based – Waterloo, London
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Edwards Duthie Shamash has an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal with an interest in litigation to join our Waterloo office, supporting our busy Media Law and Civil Litigation teams.
We are looking for an organised, energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly teams, working on a diverse range of complex and often high-profile matters where initiative and adaptability will be valued.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
This is a fast-paced, varied and hands-on role, providing close support to fee earners across all aspects of case preparation.
As a paralegal you will:-
- Assist with the preparation of a wide range of legal documents, including witness statements and court orders;
- Attend client meetings, conferences with Counsel and court hearings;
- Assist with new enquiries;
- Conduct legal research;
- Collate, organise and prepare documentation, including court bundles; and
- Support the teams in managing substantial caseloads and demanding deadlines.
Training and close supervision will be provided.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written skills, together with strong interpersonal skills.
You will be pro-active, highly organised and able to multi-task, prioritise effectively and respond constructively to shifting demands in order to meet litigation deadlines, time recording and billing targets.
Strong IT skills are also required, along with a positive, professional approach and the ability to work effectively within a busy team environment.
It is our practice that towards the end of a Paralegal’s first year with the Firm, they may be considered for a training contract.
Successful completion of LPC, BVC or SQE 1, together with previous paralegal experience, is desirable but not essential.
