Edwards Duthie Shamash successfully concluded a claim for damages against the Metropolitan Police who were responsible for an assault and unlawful imprisonment of a 19 year old man. Whilst attending an Eid Festival he was assaulted by the police who sought to arrest him on grounds which were baseless. It was during the course of the arrest, he was assaulted and hit over the head with a baton causing him to need hospital treatment.
