Prince Harry settles legal claim against Sun publisher
We welcome News Group’s widely reported admissions in Court yesterday of the very serious and unlawful intrusions into the private lives of Prince Harry, Lord Tom Watson, and also the late Princess Diana.
This is the first time News Group have admitted any wrongdoing in connection with The Sun newspaper, having vehemently denied this for over a decade.
Our Media Law Partners, Lord Gerald Shamash and Alex Cochrane, have acted for a large number of claimants since the inception of the managed litigation against News Group in 2011. In the last tranche of the litigation, we successfully resolved claims for 15 of the 42 claimants that were listed for trial alongside Prince Harry and Lord Watson, including Lord Peter Mandelson, Alan Yentob and Andy Burnham.
We are one of the leading firms in the voicemail interception (VMI) and unlawful information gathering (UIG) litigation, which currently involves News Group, Mirror Group and Associated Newspapers Limited.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Gerald or Alex in our Media Law team.
