East Ham man acquitted of Attempted Murder

A young East Ham man was successfully represented by Edwards Duthie Shamash over the course of three trials relating to the same incident.

The defendant was accused of the attempted murder of Mathan Selvarajah in the early hours of 19 September 2011, when it was alleged that the defendant deliberately drove at the complainant causing him serious injury.

The accused was acquitted of attempted murder in December 2013. He was re-tried in relation to the outstanding GBH matter and was duly acquitted by a jury at Inner London Crown Court on 22 March 2013.

Phillip Law was the solicitor with conduct from interview until conclusion of the trial. He was led by Jeremy Benson QC (of 18 red Lion Court) in both effective trials.

The defendant will be sentenced for an outstanding driving offence in April.
